02409-023-019-001B Propst Park - Baseball Lighting Retrofit #16077

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Columbus, Mississippi in Columbus City Hall, 523 Main Street, Columbus, MS 39701 until 10:00 A.M., Local Time, on July 15, 2024 for supplying all labor and materials (as specified) necessary for construction of “Propst Park – Baseball Lighting Retrofit.” The work is generally described as follows:

Base Bid – Install electrical service and lighting control panels, lighting fixtures on existing poles, conduit, conductors, concrete pads, and chain-link fencing enclosure for a complete electrical and lighting system at four baseball fields.

Additive Alternate No. 1 – Remove existing light poles and install 20 wood poles for lighting system.
Additive Alternate No. 2 – Remove existing light poles and install 20 metal poles for lighting system.
Additive Alternate No. 3 – Install vertical metal fencing enclosure in lieu of chain-link fencing.

The above general outline of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The contract time is 90 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each calendar day the Work has not achieved Substantial Completion.

Special Damages – In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay the Owner the actual costs reasonably incurred by Owner for engineering and inspection forces employed on the work after the time stipulated for the completion of the work.

CERTIFICATE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Each contractor submitting a bid in excess of $50,000.00 must show on his bid and on the face of the envelope containing the bid, his Certificate of Responsibility Number, as required by Section 31-3-21 and 21-3-15, Mississippi Code of 1972. If the bid does not exceed $50,000.00, a notation so stating must appear on the face of the envelope.

EVIDENCE: No bid will be opened, considered or accepted unless the above information is given as specified.

Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited with the City of Columbus prior to the hour and date herein before designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to the City of Columbus, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.

The City of Columbus reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities there in.
